With 65% of our population being transient, we can’t know everyone. CENTEGIX Enhanced Visitor Management helps us quickly identify visitors and know where they are, even if we don’t know them personally, and that is a huge relief for our staff. Before the visitor management system and visitor badges, there were no check-ins. We didn’t know if they actually came to campus, or if they did, when and where they went. Now, they have to come into the front office, check-in and we can see where they are and have been, which has offered unexpected upside.

A student had a medical emergency in my classroom. If this situation had occurred before I had CrisisAlert, I wouldn’t be able to stay with the student. I think every school employee everywhere should have these.

In Burkburnett, there is almost no cell service. Phones show no signal at almost all campuses. While working, I tried to send a text that said, “It has to be 115 in here,” but it never went through. So even if I had been able to move my fingers and get my phone out of my pocket, there’s no guarantee it would have been able to dial out.

I have mentioned to my family and a number of staff members how much safer I feel having this badge while at work.

Two students were arguing with a teacher. The students would not stop their disrespectful behavior or raising their voices and demanding to a teacher. I did not feel okay leaving the teacher to get my phone, so I pressed the badge. I was calm and was confident someone would arrive within a minute.

Seconds can save lives. This gives us the ability to focus directly on where the threat or need is and respond as quickly as possible.

The CENTEGIX badges have been a game changer for us. There have been multiple situations, including seizures, a dislocated knee, an allergic reaction, a couple of classroom altercations, and a threatening individual, that have prompted staff to use the three-button press. Our staff response time is significantly shorter with this tool. Responders reach the incident location in 30 seconds or less, regardless of the location on campus. Thankfully we haven’t had a need to use the tool for a full school lockdown as of yet, but I’m sure it will happen, and when it does, we will be ready. The decision to move to CENTEGIX was, in my opinion, a great one.

Safety and security is everyone’s responsibility, so if we’re going to make that everyone’s responsibility, then everyone needs to be empowered to have a voice. These are public schools and parents entrust their children to us every day.

I had a non-verbal student having a meltdown in the lunch room, I was unable to get her to leave with me. I used my Badge and 3 higher up staff members came to assist and get the other students out of the way. This device has been nothing but helpful to our whole school.

That nurse wasn’t able to get on a phone and explain the situation, so they used their duress badge and help came immediately and deterred the situation.
