Assault After Hours: Getting Medical Help After the School Day Ends
The Challenge
- Following a series of violent incidents, Clark County School District recognized the urgent need to improve campus safety.
- A key goal was identifying a safety solution that would enable staff to quickly get help during emergencies.
The Solution
- The district implemented the CrisisAlert™ wearable panic button so employees could get help in an emergency no matter where or when they were on campus.
- On October 24, 2022, after school hours, a security monitor at Rancho High School was assaulted in a suspected robbery.
- Nearby staff used their CrisisAlert badges to immediately request help to the scene—only a week after the badges had been distributed. Together, the training and technology had led to a better outcome.

The Results
- First responders and CCSD PD provided a rapid response, and the campus security monitor was transported to a nearby hospital following the attack.
- He was later discharged the following morning.
