Building District Confidence: Preparing for the Most Common School Emergencies

An estimated 10% to 25% of childhood injuries occur in schools. During the 2021-2022 school year, roughly 857,500 violent incidents and 479,500 non violent incidents occurred on public school campuses in theUnited States. Additionally, the number of children with special healthcare needs attending US schools has increased in recent years, even as school districts struggle to hire and retain onsite, licensed healthcare professionals.

Given these conditions, school leaders must not only plan for the common emergencies associated with injury, illness, and special healthcare needs, they must choose an emergency response system that enables them to rapidly and effectively execute those response plans.
