Who should download or have access to this application?

The CENTEGIX CrisisAlert application is geared towards “Administrators” and “Responders”. This application is not currently available for students, parents, or non-responder staff members. If you have questions or concerns about whether you should be marked as a responder, please contact your local administrator. For more information about the application as a whole, please contact support@centegix.com.

How can I verify the locations I have access to?

Once logged into the application, you can click on the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen. Then select Locations, and you will see a list of locations to which you have access. If you have questions or concerns about whether you should be marked as a “Responder”, please contact your local administrator.

How can I see which alert types I am able to access?

Once logged into the application, you can click on the gear icon in the top right corner of the screen. From there, select Alert Permissions, and your interface will show a list of locations and the alert types you have access to at that location. If you have questions or concerns about whether you should be able to open an alert, please contact your local administrator.

How do I close an alert?

When an alert is open, you can see more information about it by simply clicking on the alert itself. This will take you to the map view with the alerts for that location listed below. Within each alert you will see a Close Alert button. Selecting this button will prompt you to select a Close Reason, which is required to close an alert.

Will I still get push notifications from the CENTEGIX app if I do a backup and restore to my device or to a new device?

When you need to do a backup and restore to a new device or the same device you must sign into the CENTEGIX app after the restore in order to keep getting alert push notifications.

Can I disable/enable Critical Alerts on iOS?

You will be prompted to allow Critical Alerts the very first time you launch the app. After that, Critical Alert settings can be modified by opening Apple’s Settings app then going to Notifications > CENTEGIX. At that screen you can turn on and off Critical Alerts and Allow Notifications. If you are an active “Responder” it is best that these are always on.

Does Android have a Critical Alerts push notification classification?

Android does not have a special push notification classification called Critical Alerts like iOS.

What are the optimal settings on my iOS device to give me the best chance of getting a CrisisAlert push notification?

On an iPhone, make sure you have the optimal settings by going to Apple’s Settings app and going to Notifications and look for CENTEGIX in the list of apps. Select it and make sure Critical Alerts and Allow Notifications are both enabled.

What are the optimal settings on my Samsung Android device to give me the best chance of getting a CrisisAlert push notification?

On an Android device there are multiple settings that can impact the ability for CENTEGIX app to receive alert notifications and they are Notifications, Do Not Disturb and Battery Usage.

a. Samsung Notification Settings – On the device, browse to the CENTEGIX app settings by long pressing the CENTEGIX app icon and choosing App Info or by opening the Android Settings app and going to Notifications > App Notifications > CENTEGIX. In that screen make sure Allow Notifications is turned on and that Allow Sound and Vibration is selected. In the same screen tap on Notification Categories and make sure the switch next to CrisisAlert Alerts is turned on. Then tap CrisisAlerts Alerts and make sure Allow Notifications is turned on and Alert is selected. In the same screen Show As Pop-Up should be turned on as well. Do not modify the Sound settings on this screen as it may prevent you from getting notifications in the future.

b. Samsung Optimal Do Not Disturb Settings – On the device, open the Android Settings app and going to Notifications > Do Not Disturb. In the Do Not Disturb screen look for the Allowed During Do Not Disturb section and select App Notifications. Make sure the CENTEGIX app is listed there and if you do not see it touch the Add Apps button and select the CENTEGIX app from the list.

What are the optimal settings on my Google Pixel device to give the best chance of getting a CrisisAlert push notification?

On an Android device there are multiple settings that can impact the ability for CENTEGIX app to receive alert notifications and they are Notifications, Do Not Disturb and Battery Usage.

a. Pixel Notification Settings – On the device, browse to the CENTEGIX app settings by long pressing on the CENTEGIX app icon and choosing App Info or by opening the Android Settings app and going to Notifications > App Notifications > CENTEGIX. In that screen make sure All CENTEGIX Notifications is turned on. In the same screen ensure Pop On Screen is turned on. Next, tap the CrisisAlert Alerts section and ensure Show Notifications is turned on and Default is selected. Do not modify the Sound settings on this screen as it may prevent you from getting notifications in the future.

b. Pixel Optimal Do Not Disturb Settings – On the device, open the Android Settings app and go to Notifications > Do Not Disturb. In the Do Not Disturb screen tap Apps. On the Apps screen tap Add apps > select CENTEGIX > turn on Allow All Notifications.

How to disable alert notification in Smart Watches?

For Apple Watch, go to the Watch app in iPhone device, tap Notifications on the My Watch screen, scroll down to the MIRROR IPHONE ALERTS FROM section, find the CENTEGIX app and toggle the button to turn off notifications. For Samsung Watch, open the Wearable app in the Samsung phone and go to Watch Settings > Notifications > App Notifications, find the CENTEGIX app and toggle button to turn off notifications.
