Session Description: In this session, we will walk through what happened at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida, and how Florida school districts had to manage the legislative mandates that came out of that tragedy. Chief John Newman, Chief of Security and Emergency Management for Hillsborough County Schools, will detail the findings from the event, and the practical changes he made within his school district as a direct result of this incident.
